52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks: Week 51
Week 51: Nice
What ancestor comes to mind when you think of "nice"? (For me, it’s my paternal grandmother, who was the sweetest person you’d ever want to meet.) Or maybe you have a relative who did something nice, like share copies of the family Bible or gave you old photos?
I am fortunate to have many amazing and wonderful women in the family, who have shared with me the family history.
I unfortunately didn’t know my Mum’s Parents, but got to spend a lot of time with my Dad’s Parents. Who I adored. My Grandfather Robert died in 1983 and my grandmother Lil in 2005, I was so lucky to live with her and to spend a lot of time with her from birth to adulthood.
My Mum’s sister AJ has been so nice sharing with me the Families history and old photos, and filling in some of the blank spaces, as has my Dad’s sister M.
Of course I can’t forget the nicest person I have ever known, the woman that bought me into this world, my Mum, Carol. She was the kindest person. She had a heart of gold, and would do anything for anyone. Welcomed people into her home, fed them up on good food, and cared for them like family. She was and will always remain my hero.
