Week 26: Black Sheep
A “black sheep” is someone who is considered a troublemaker or an outcast. Fortunately for family historians, some “black sheep” create a lot of records. Do you have a criminal ancestor? Someone who was considered a rabble-rouser? Is there someone who was an outcast because of a difference of opinion or beliefs?
There are most likely dozens of sheep wandering the family paddock. I am still working my way through the tree’s (since moving I haven’t really done all that much of it).
Going through my Late Grandmothers Family History I have found that several of her Great / Great Grandparents / Relatives were convicts had been sent out to Australia (I am not sure of the crimes committed) where they met and married other convicts in the 1800’s which led to many other branches of our very large tree being created.
So far the other family trees look to be black sheep free, though I am sure that along the lines I will find some odd ones..
