My Memory Jar

Who I am and why I’m here…

I signed up to do some new prompts and promptly forgot about them, so apologies for the amount of posts that i will write over the coming days.

[Who I am]…

So i am known around these parts as Nic (or in this house as Cole, Nicole, Mum). I am the keeper of the memories and the moments, the one with a camera always in hand, the one who captures the little details of our life and then scrapbooks, blogs and journals them. I am the person who takes the snaps and snippets of our everyday. The overseer and keeper of the family history, the one who wants to know more about who my ancestors where, the girl who  takes the old memories and mixes them with new ones.

I have been blogging for just over 11 years, hard to believe that it has been that long. I started blogging when my now 14 year old daughter was still a toddler, and now she is in her 3rd year of High School.

I have blogged my grief of losing my grandmother, Father and then mother, Our various Moves around Western Australia, including owner building an American Barn, Our move to Tasmania, and so much more.

[So why am I here]…

Well i find that getting my thoughts down somewhere a very therapeutic exercise. Somewhere for me to reference back to when i am doing a project, whether that is Family History, Project Life, or the many other wonderful memory keeping projects that i have started / created over the years.

I have changed the look and feel and even name of the blog many many times, but feel at this time that My Memory Jar Just works, because thats really what the blog is. It’s those little notes and antidotes that i want to remember.

Thank you for coming along for the ride.
