Daily Prompt: Ode to a Playground

A place from your past or childhood, one that you’re fond of, is destroyed. Write it a memorial.

There have been many places over the years that have held a special place in my heart. Wether it be somewhere i have gone to with my parents and siblings or with Jack and Angel. One place that i have been to that holds a very special place in my heart is Hanging rock in Victoria. My great uncle wrote the screen play to the well known movie. I recall going there on a school excursion i think it was. Have just had conformation from my sister to say that we went there with Mum and Dad also Jack and i went in December 2000 / January of 2001, and yes i was fit back then and could walk up it. If heaven forbid it was ever destroyed and it would take one huge natural disaster to do so i would along with many others mourn it’s loss.

This rock has for many years been a playground for families to picnic, watch the races and ponder on wether or not the story of the young girls disappearance was indeed a myth or there was some truth to it. It in some strange way will forever have a hold on my heartstrings, and really is a very special place. The journey to the top of the rock to see what is below. The myth’s, Legends of times gone by. The memories even though many now faded and part of days past.
